Troy Gentry, half of the wildly successful country duo Montgomery Gentry, died last week in a helicopter crash in Medford, New Jersey. He was 50. The crash took place before 1 p.m. ET Friday, Sept. 8, according to a statement on the band’s website. The helicopter’s pilot also was killed, authorities said.
