Two tractor-trailers and three passenger vehicles caught fire after colliding on Interstate 55 at Cicero Avenue on the Stevenson Expressway in Chicago this morning. The collision and subsequent fires shut down interstate traffic in both directions, causing traffic to back up for several miles.

Four drivers managed to get away from the crash safely, according to local news station ABC 7 Chicago. A driver of one of the passenger vehicles died in the crash. ABC 7 Chicago reports that all three passenger cars were destroyed in the blaze.

Both tractor-trailers experienced severe damage. One was said to be carrying 17,800 pounds of paint and the other was loaded with 40,000 pounds of frozen meet.

Local police are investigating the accident.
