Alaska West Express driver is Alaska’s champion

Alaska’s top truckers came together June 2-3 to compete in the state’s Truck Driving Championships in Anchorage. Brian Ambrose, a driver for heavy haul and bulk trucking company Alaska West Express, won the grand champion title. Ambrose also won in the Sleeper class.

Grand Champion: Brian Ambrose, Alaska West Express

3-Axle: Denny Hawkins, American Fast Freight 

4-Axle: Brad Hinkes, Carlile Transportation

5-Axle: Edward Tuia, Alaska West Express

Sleeper: Brian Ambrose, Alaska West Express

Flatbed: Ryan Surian, American Fast Freight

Tanker: Jack Sorensen, Lynden Transport

Step Van: Ron Bernier, FedEx

Straight Truck: Rebecca Nelson, FedEx
