Brake Week makes some folks hot

We’re in the midst of Brake Safety Week and some folks approve of this annual inspection spree, while others don’t … and have lots to say on the topic.

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance expects more than 30,000 brake inspections be completed as part of Operation Airbrake program, sponsored by the alliance and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Judging by some of the comments online, folks question everything about Brake Week. Usually in no uncertain terms. For example:

“Another reason to take a week off for all drivers … it a parking blitz. Let America feel the pain of empty shelves.”

“Let’s not fine them but educate them … Most drivers do not know how to check their own brakes.”

“If the cars had to go through the same inspections as trucks do, 3/4’s of them would OOS.”

See for yourself.
