A major trucking company based in Indianapolis has created a new award in memory of its founder and to recognize drivers and other employees.

This award recognizes members of both the administrative staff and driver fleet. The first recipients were honored at a company gathering earlier this month.

“Steve Russell built this company on hard work, strategic partnerships and good business decisions,” said Paul Will, Celadon’s Chairman and CEO. “This honor recognizes drivers and other team members who possess these attributes. Celadon still holds these values today as we continue to grow as a company, and it’s only fitting that we created the Steve Russell Award to honor Steve.”
The 10 honorees were nominated for the award by their supervisors and later voted on by their peers. Each award winner received a hand-thrown, celadon-glazed plate, which replicates the jade green Chinese pottery for which the company was named.
