CMT’s new documentary The Bandit takes another look at the hit movie Smokey & The Bandit, offering insights into the making of the movie and the personal journeys of its stars, Burt Reynolds, and director Hal Needham.
Smokey & The Bandit was a low-budget action/comedy that became a huge hit in 1977, and a mainstay on everyone’s “Best Trucker Movies” list.
The documentary includes footage from Reynolds’ personal archive, new interviews with him and interviews with Needham.
The Bandit premiered Aug. 6 and is available to watch online here; requires you sign in with your cable TV provider information.
