A crew installing a large shopping center sign in Blue Springs, Missouri Monday, July 24, got more than they bargained for. At about 10:30 a.m. the crane placing the sign toppled, brought down power lines, crashed onto a nearby pickup truck and stopped traffic on U.S. 40. One workman at the scene was injured when he tried to flee the crane’s collapse and was struck by a car. The seriousness of his injuries was unknown.
