Driver injured by object tossed from highway overpass

A Mississippi truck driver was injured by an object thrown from a highway overpass crashed through the windshield of his truck recently.

The incident occurred at about 2 a.m. Saturday, May 21, on Highway 98 near Lakeview drive in Mobile, Alabama.

This comes shortly after a truck driver was shot in the face from an overpass on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago recently.

And, things are being thrown from overpasses in Austin, Texas.

Charles Jones is reported to have been headed eastbound on Highway 98 in Alabama, when, â€śThe next thing I know the windshield  just exploded — everything went black.”

Jones said he stopped his truck in the middle of the highway, and a driver behind him stopped and called 911.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office report finding a torn up plastic jug inside the cab of Jones’ truck.

Jones was treated for glass in his eyes and a fractured left cheek bone.
