Truck drivers lost a combined 1,074 pounds by participating in the MATS 2 GATS fitness challenge, Stevens Transportation driver Tom Kyrk announced this afternoon at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas.

Kyrk partnered with ToughTested to host the program, which challenged drivers to lose a combined total of 2,000 pounds, or one ton, between the Mid-America Trucking Show and GATS. Kryk said 93 drivers participated. The underlying goal for the program was to see the drivers lose a ton of weight, but Kyrk said his personal goal was to see drivers making positive life changes.

“We lost a little over 1,000 pounds in almost three months. Think about how much weight that is. That is very impressive,” Kyrk said.
