Eat This, Not That: McDonald’s burgers

It may be hard to escape fast food in the trucking industry, but you can make healthier decisions by being informed about your options. Many fast food chains display nutritional information online or in-store. Concerned about your daily diet? Check out the nutritional information, and you will learn there are some menu items that are a lot better for you than others.
For example, if you’re at McDonald’s, choose the double cheeseburger rather than the double quarter-pounder with cheese.
Calories:
Double quarter-pounder with cheese has 760
Double cheeseburger has 430
Difference: 330 calories

On Twitter (@blczz999) You guy’s wanted to know what I think. Like it (the website) easy to get around and lots of information. Don’t know if your aware of it, there’s no picture on “Fit’s” main page, under “Receipe of the Day”. Also, McDonalds is NOW advertising one of their Wraps that has a Hamburger patty cut in half in it?! Don’t know how much good that would do. Also, what I would do when I was driving (STILL unemployed-DRAT!!) I would park as close as I could the front and then after I ate, I’d go for a walk around the parking lot (weather also permitting). And Driver’s can do a modified Push-Up against the trailer that they drive.
Bonnie, thanks so much for the feedback! Not sure what’s up with the pic on the recipe because it shows up on my computer, but I’ll ask our Web designers about it on Monday. Thanks for the tip about the McDonald’s food, too!
I my self can’t eat Mcdonalds burgers every time i do my stomach is torn up for days that should tell you something about how bad their food is..i prefer Subway my self it’s better and healthier
After learning my bp was in the stroke range,I started making better food and excercise choices…#1 forget fast food …even if u find something thats low in calories and fat ,it’s still loaded with salt. T/A,Petro,and flying J all have healthy food on the menu,Salmon, grilled chicken etc.tell the waitress when u order no butter,no salt and if u get salad bar just use vinegar and a lil bit oil (I’ve even cut out the oil) No soda, drink water….I know it’s tough but eat right and walk as much as possible and i guarantee you’ll feel better and be healthier…I dropped 40 lbs in 4 months and now I’m not outta breath walkin to the back of the trailer : ) Be safe
When you pull into some place to park to eat anymore, you don’t have much of a choice of what to eat..It used to be the fine slop that they called food..those are gone in most truck stops and now have switched to fast food..Then they tell you to eat healthy…There are still a few healthy good tasting places to eat at a few OLD non franchised truck stops..But they are disappearing fast..Maybe it is time to carry a bar-b-que in the truck, get a taxi to the grocery store and get a good meal…If the truck stop bitches…Ask them when are they going to feed us HEALTHY FOOD..Or is that the way they are going to kill us off…
