Schneider driver wins Trucker Buddy award
Schneider National company driver Henry R. Good has won the 2010 Gary King Memorial Award, Tuscaloosa, Ala.-based Trucker Buddy International announced. Presented at the recent Walcott Jamboree in Walcott, Iowa, the award honors truckers for outstanding volunteer work in the Trucker Buddy program, a school outreach effort that seeks to educate children and youth about trucking and encourage their scholastic pursuits. Good is among the truckers who volunteered in 1992 when the program started, says Randy Schwartzenburg, executive director of Trucker Buddy International. Good is known in the truck beauty show circuit for his 1981 Kenworth K100C VIT Aerodyne cabover, often described as Hank’s Highway Hilton.
Team driving opportunity
John Christner Trucking is offering 97 cents per mile for joining as a lease-operator or owner-operator team. The company says the new program will allow teams to drive in friendly lanes and haul drop-and-hook freight. Teams have priority dispatch and three primary running lanes from California.
