During three-day inspection efforts on I-44 earlier this month, Missouri State Troopers placed a total of four drivers and five vehicles out-of-service.
According to a statement from the troopers, the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program enforcement operations were conducted Jan. 9 through 11 along I-44 in Jasper, Newton, and Greene counties in the southwestern part of Missouri.
The enforcement effort led to a total of:
- 7 commercial vehicle violations
- 5 seat belt violations
- 1 child restraint arrest
- 2 misdemeanor warrant arrest
- 2 felony drug arrests
- 2 non-moving violations
- 104 warnings for various other offenses
During the three-day operation in Jasper and Newton counties, troopers stopped 61 commercial vehicles and 22 passenger vehicles. Troopers conducted 58 commercial vehicle inspections that resulted in three drivers and four vehicles being placed out-of-service
During operations in Greene County, troopers stopped 54 commercial vehicles and 21 passenger vehicles. Troopers conducted 28 commercial motor vehicle inspections which resulted in one driver and one vehicle being placed out-of-service.
