I-270 eastbound closure set near Denver
September 22, 2011
| by: Truckers News Staff
Eastbound I-270 north of Denver will be closed between York Street and Vazquez Boulevard beginning Sept. 23 through the weekend for construction, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.
The closure will take place from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26. The weekend work will be followed by several more weekend closures as well as night work during the week.
Six bridge decks along I-270 are in poor condition and will be replaced. CDOT urges drivers to avoid eastbound I-270 during the work, although a detour route will be in place.
Additional weekend closures will take place consecutively into early November, weather permitting. Night work will begin on Sept. 27 on eastbound and westbound I-270 over Dahlia Street. Single lane closures are possible each night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday.
