I-470 construction under way
July 26, 2010

Drivers need to find alternate routes during construction on a section of westbound I-470 near Kansas City, Mo., that collapsed July 17.
Repairs are scheduled to be finished no later than Sept. 15, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
A portion of the I-470 interchange to I-435 collapsed. A new 225-foot bridge extension will be added to the existing stable bridge at that location, MODOT said.
