In downtown St. Louis this weekend, all lanes of eastbound I-64 will be closed for bridge work from Jefferson (mile marker 38) to the Poplar Street bridge (mile marker 40).
The closures begin at 3 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, and the interstate will reopen by 3 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, the Missouri Department of Transportation said. Drivers can use the I-270 loop to access I-70 or I-55 east, eventually traveling over the bridge.
Two lanes on the westbound Poplar Street bridge will also close, starting at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19. The lanes are expected to reopen by 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21. In addition, one eastbound lane on the Poplar Street bridge will close from 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, to noon Sunday, Aug. 21.
The Poplar Street Bridge carries Interstates 55, 64 and 70 over the Mississippi River between Missouri and Illinois.
