Interstate 70 in St. Louis will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, between mile markers 249 and 251, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Ramps from the Poplar Street Bridge to I-70 and Memorial Drive will be closed. The work is being done as part of construction of the New Mississippi River Bridge to relocate I-70 across the river.

Commercial drivers should consider using Interstates 170, 270 and I-64/U.S. 40 to detour around the closure, MoDOT said.

Also, MoDOT will close several lanes of eastbound and westbound I-270 between Lindbergh Boulevard (Route 67) and I-170 starting Friday, October 7, weather permitting.

Crews will close one eastbound I-270 lane beginning at 9 p.m. and a second lane will close Friday and Saturday between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. Two lanes will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Crews will close two lanes of westbound I-270 at 9 p.m. Only one lane will be closed westbound from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
