Lane closures set for I-70 Missouri River Bridge
January 4, 2012
| by: Truckers News Staff
Lanes of the eastbound I-70 Missouri River Bridge (Blanchette Bridge) near St. Louis will be closed Jan. 9-12 for construction. Previously announced work for Jan. 8 has been canceled.
The work is being done to prepare for rehabilitation work scheduled for the westbound I-70 Blanchette Bridge. Construction is expected to start this year and last until the end of 2013, the Missouri Department of Construction said.
The current work will move utilities off the westbound bridge and place them on the eastbound bridge.
On Jan. 9-12, one eastbound lane will close 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and a second lane and the Fifth Street ramps will close 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Similar nightly lane closures on the bridge could occur weekly, Sunday through Thursday nights, until late March. The Fifth Street ramp closures will be limited.
