America’s most-recognizable woman truck driver returns to television early next month.

Lisa Kelly, one of the stars of the History Channel’s hit reality show, “Ice Road Truckers,” is back when the new season begins Thursday, Aug. 4 at 10 p.m. Eastern, and 9 p.m. Central.

This will be the milestone 10th season for the series and Kelly’s seventh on the show, which follows several drivers hauling loads over the (most of the time) frozen roads of remote northern Canada.

Season Nine was a pivotal one for Kelly. The 35-year-old who lives in Wasilla, Alaska left Polar Enterprises and formed a partnership with Darrell Ward, who had been running solo. The season ended with Ward presenting Kelly with a “Team Lisa & Darrell” jacket.

In the offseason, Kelly signed on with Chevron Delo and was at the company’s booth at the Mid-America Trucking Show last spring. She and castmate Todd Dewey also were at Truckfest in the UK.

To get you up to speed for Season 10, here’s a recap of Season Nine:

  • Dewey and Kelly combined forces to make an unconventional and first-of-its-kind for IRT haul across frozen — mostly, that is — Hudson Bay.
  • Ward made a mad dash over a rapidly thawing trail to deliver a load of sheet rock before the site closed at 4 p.m. He made it with moments to spare, unload and head back to Winnipeg.
  • Alex Debogorski, who has been on the ice roads for all 10 seasons, had a modest collision with a tanker on his last run of the year but made it without too many dents or too much pain.
  • Finally, Art Burke made his season-ending run with his typical trauma and skillful bleeping by the show’s technical crew.

The History Channel has said nothing official about who’s driving the ice roads in the season about to debut, but activity on their Facebook pages indicate Ward, Kelly and Dewey are back. During an interview at the Mid-America Truck Show last spring, Debogorski gave Truckers News what details he could about his 10th year on the show.
