Mack that was part of Evel Knievel history restored

Big Red is back on the road.

That’s the name of the 1974 Mack FS786LST that was part of famed motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel’s shows and stunts.

Over the past three-plus years, the big Bulldog was restored by Historic Harley-Davidson in Topeka, Kan., where it will be on display. The exhibit is owned by Lathan McKay.

It’s now at Evel Knievel Days in Butte, Mt. and then can be seen at the Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota Aug. 3-9.

The exhibit is hauled by a pair of new Mack Pinnacles.
