Meet the new frontier of ‘Truck Train’

Vintage VideosSixty-two years ago, the Pennsylvania Railroad used this film to showcase its Truck Train service, which eventually became known as piggybacking. This 1955 film explains what it calls “the most recent step in the progress of American transportation” and the opening of a new frontier. In the film, the railroad claims Truck Train would help ease the burden of congestion on the nation’s highways as well as provide fast, affordable service to shippers.
