Melton, Tulsa-based flatbed carrier, is the latest company to increase wages for its drivers.
Melton Truck Lines, a Tulsa-based flatbed carrier, has announced a pay raise for its drivers.
The join Con-way and U.S. Xpress, which announced driver wage increases last week.
In a statement, Melton said company drivers will receive at least 2 cents per mile increase in pay. Melton’s pay scale still varies depending on experience and tenure. This increase will start student drivers at 37 CPM and will give the most experienced drivers 50 CPM.
Melton said the increases can boost a drivers annual pay by $2,400 or more.
“I promise my drivers if they work hard and smart, they will be well compensated,” said Melton President Bob Peterson. “This raise is well-deserved and just the first of many. We know that base pay is just a part of a terrific package.
