The Missouri Department of Transportation received a $1 million Federal Highway Administration grant to build new truck parking spaces on Interstate 70.
The state will meet with trucking companies to decide where to locate additional truck parking. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2012.
Missouri has doubled the number of truck parking places along interstates, MoDOT said. The number of commercial vehicles on I-70 is forecast to double by 2030.
