Mobile diabetes monitor now available on Android

The Gmate SMART blood glucose monitoring system and app are now available on Android devices after receiving approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The Gmate SMART is a portable blood glucose meter. It plugs into a smartphone’s headphone jack and works with the app to provide blood glucose test results within 5 seconds. 

The system’s diabetes management features include goal setting, graphing and the option to email or text blood glucose test results.

The Gmate SMART app is free to download in the Apple app store and Google Play. The meter, available from Kmart Pharmacy and Best Strips, lists at $13.99 and the Gmate test strips list for $14.99 for a box of 50 test strips.
