Moving a space shuttle fuel tank? If so, use a truck

Updated May 25, 2016
A space shuttle fuel tank is moved through the streets of Los Angeles.

While in orbit, the space shuttle’s top speed was 17,500 mph. But, on the ground its fuel tank was clocked at a sprightly 5 mph as it made its way to the California Science Center. The tank passed through the Panama Canal on its way from Louisiana to Los Angeles. But, to get it to its final destination a truck was needed last week.
