The truck driven by a man from New York collided with a bus carrying 60 farmworkers Tuesday, April 18, afternoon in Florida.

Chee Chea, 55, of Brooklyn, New York, was ticketed by the Florida Highway Patrol for careless driving.

A Florida Highway Patrol spokesman said the bus was heading southbound on State Route 29 about six miles north of Alligator Alley. They say the bus was slowing down to turn onto Oil Well Park Road when Chea’s truck wasn’t able to stop and swerved left to avoid the bus. The truck hit the left side of the bus as it was turning.

The bus driver was transported to Lehigh Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
