Truck Driver Appreciation Week set for Sept. 11-17

Mark your calendar for one of the most important weeks of the trucking year: 2016 National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is Sept. 11 to 17. To add to the celebration, the American Trucking Associations revealed the logo and sponsors for the weeklong celebration recently.

As it did last year, Truckers News will be asking folks to tell us why I Luv My Trucker.

Sponsors for this year’s observance are Help, Inc., Velociti, U.S. Legal Services, SmartDrive and Trucker Path.

“National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is an institution in the trucking industry that has been building in popularity throughout my tenure at ATA, and I think our drivers are witnessing an improved image due, in part, to this well-deserved appreciation week,” said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves.

ATA encourages motor carriers and suppliers throughout the industry to hold appreciation events for truck drivers during the week. It offers a toolkit to help companies celebrate at the official NTDAW webpage.

Later this spring, ATA will unveil the NTDAW E-Store, where supporters will be able to purchase items ranging from backpacks to banners to show their appreciation for professional truck drivers.
