Trucker injured in collapse of bridge onto I-75 identified

UPDATE: Police have identified the truck driver injured in the construction accident on I-75 near Cincinnati Monday night.

The associated Press reports the driver,  Eric J. Meyers, of Howell, Michigan, was taken to a hospital with what were described as minor injuries. 

A construction worker was killed and a truck driver injured when the Hopple Street bridge collapsed onto I-75 near Cincinnati Monday at about 10:30 p.m.

The bridge was being demolished at the time of the collapse. The new one replacing it is open to traffic.

Police have not released the names of the construction worker or the driver.

Pictures from the scene show bridge debris fell onto the front of the cab of the truck, crushing the engine compartment.
