Updated: Video shows horrific crash, fire of tanker on NJ Turnpike

The driver of a tanker died in this NJ Turnpike accident.

Update: Police have not charged the motorist who was driving the vehicle from which two mattresses and two box springs flew into traffic Wednesday causing this fiery crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. They have, however, said the tanker that crashed was operated by JSK Transport of Old Bridge, NJ, and carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline.

The driver of a tanker truck swerved to avoid a mattress in the middle of the New Jersey Turnpike near Exit 15W near Kearny Wednesday Oct. 7 with disastrous results. The tragedy was captured on the dash cam of another trucker, Kevin Hauer, who stopped but could not render assistance. One media report said the unidentified driver died in the crash, which closed the highway for several hours.
