Werner celebrated the enrollment of the 5,000th veteran in its Professional Truck Driver Apprenticeship Program.

Charles Doster, of Cordele, Georgia, is the 5,000th veteran to choose to apply their GI Bill benefits to the apprenticeship program. He attended Roadmaster Drivers School in Jacksonville, Florida and serves in the Georgia Army National Guard as a truck driver/supply specialist, according to a news release from the company.

Werner started its veteran apprenticeship program in 2006 through a partnership with the Department of Labor and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“Werner deeply values and appreciates all veterans and their spouses for the sacrifices they make while serving our country,” said Jim Morbach, Werner’s associate vice president of student and government recruiting. “It has been our mission to create the best career opportunities available for veterans transitioning to civilian careers.”
