41 Rbg5m97 Zl Sy355Texas singer-songwriter and truck driver Will Beeley has a new album coming out in June, his first new music in 40 years.

Beeley delivered two albums in 1he 1970s (Gallivantin‘ in 1971 and Passing Dream in 1979) before becoming a long-haul trucker to pay the bills. Both of those albums were re-released in 2017 and Beeley set to work on album number three, Highways & Heart Attacks, which Tompkins Square plans to deliver June 14.

One of the cuts from the new album is “Highway 85,” an ode to the highway that runs between New Mexico and North Dakota. Rolling Stone described the song: “Spacious, spare and simmering, the song hums along with reverb-soaked guitar and a stuttering accordion while Beeley — referencing Marty Robbins’ “El Paso” and Bob Dylan’s “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues” — sings of a border crossing that lies somewhere between the end of his route and the end of opportunity.”
