Boyd Bros. Transportation is giving a 2-cents-per-mile pay increase with a $1,000 weekly minimum pay to its drivers, effective Feb. 27.

Boyd is also launching a new sign-on bonus. New drivers will receive $500 upon delivery of first load, and an additional 6 cents per mile for the next 18 months.

“We are committed to creating a better OTR driving job and pay is a key factor,” said President and CEO Chris Cooper. “This across the board increase and weekly minimum not only attracts new candidates to Boyd, but shows how we value our current drivers in a very tangible way.”

“Our sign-on bonus pay out is aggressive for a reason,” said COO Dwight Bassett. “By paying the bonus with each mile driven, new drivers at Boyd know that they will receive their bonus. It’s not a gimmick. The bonus should accumulate to around $10,000 with experienced flatbed drivers starting at 57 cents per mile plus a monthly productivity bonus.”
