Auction of truck benefits human trafficking group

Efforts to combat human trafficking will get a boost when a special truck goes on the auction block.

A custom “Everyday Heroes” Kenworth T680 donated by Kenworth will be auctioned later this year to benefit Truckers Against Trafficking.

The truck is equipped with a 76-inch sleeper, 485-horsepower Paccar MX-13 and an Eaton-Fuller 10-speed automated transmission. Kenworth dealer Inland Kenworth, which manages more than 20 dealerships in the U.S. and Canada, designed the truck and its paint scheme.

The truck has a retail value of $157,000, according to Kenworth.

The proceeds from the auction will go to Truckers Against Trafficking, which educates truckers and rest stop employees to look for signs of human trafficking and teach them how to respond.

Equipment auction company Ritchie Bros. will show the truck at its Las Vegas (March 9-10) and Phoenix (April 13-14) auctions before auctioning the truck at the June 20 Phoenix auction.
