Truck drivers and other associates at Averitt Express’ Dallas service center recently used some friendly competition to donate more than 7,500 pounds of food to a local charity.

Participants divided into three teams to see who could contribute the most food to Mission Arlington. After the final tally, The Driving Force team came out on top with 2,790 pounds, edging the Hunger Heroes (2,490 pounds) and Helping Hands (2,285 pounds) for a total of 7,565 pounds.

The event was part of Averitt’s Team Up Community Challenge, which encourages associates to “team up” to give back to local communities.

“What a great job by all of our team in Dallas,” said Dave Millea, Dallas service center director. “Everyone had a great time being a part of this event, and I could not be more proud to be a part of this team.”
