If you have unused prescription drugs you need to toss out then this weekend is your chance to do that. This Saturday, April 27, is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, according to the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

The national event is set to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local times. A collection site locator is available online.

The initiative’s goal is to collect unused prescription drugs so that they do not end up in the wrong hands. In the 2018 National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, over 5,800 collection sites were available. The total weight of prescription drugs collected in 2018 was 914,236 pounds, or 457.12 tons.
