FedEx Freight driver is Oklahoma’s grand champion

FedEx Freight’s Nick Arnold took home the grand champion title at the Oklahoma Truck Driving Championship, held May 10-11 in Oklahoma City.

Arnold had the highest overall score among all competing drivers. He also won first place in the 4-Axle class.

LaVern Reimer, a Walmart driver and Oklahoma’s 2018 grand champion, earned first place in the 5-Axle class at this year’s competition.

The class winners will advance to the national championship Aug. 14-17 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

4-Axle: Nick Arnold, FedEx Freight

5-Axle: LaVern Reimer, Walmart Transportation

Flatbed: Kenneth Pyle, FedEx Freight

Sleeper Berth: Floyd Olson, Walmart Transportation

Straight Truck: Lester Taylor, AAA Cooper Transportation

Tanker: Chris Miller, Groendyke Transport

Twins: Steve Thorne, FedEx Freight

Step Van: Richard Bright, FedEx Express
