Flying J that burned in June reopens Saturday

A Missouri travel center that was destroyed by fire in June reopens Saturday, Jan. 12.

The Flying J in Matthews, Missouri (703 State Hwy 80) burned June 3. At the time, the Matthews Volunteer Fire Department said the fire caused more than $4 million in damage. No one was injured in the blaze.

The new store has:

  • 179 truck parking spaces
  • 10 showers
  • Driver’s lounge
  • Public laundry
  • 12 diesel lanes
  • A PJ Fresh featuring PJ Fresh pizza and grab-and-go food offerings prepared on site daily
