New OverDryve unit 3 times faster than original

Rand McNally today rolled out the OverDryve 7 Pro II, a trucking-centric, multi-purpose device with three times the computing speed of its predecessor, according to the company.

The OverDryve 7 Pro II has a slightly smaller screen than the OverDryve 8 Pro II, which debuted last October, but still delivers Rand Navigation 2.0, makes available SiriusXM radio, records dashcam footage, offers hands-free calling and texting, and lets you browse the web, among other functions.

Key features of the OverDryve 7 Pro include:

    A high-definition 7-inch screen

  • Advanced truck routing with easy to see visuals such as three-dimensional cities and landmarks
  • A fully adjustable dash cam with loop recording and an integrated G sensor to create optimal recordings
  • Built-in SiriusXM radio with the first three months of service free
  • Stronger magnetic mount that supports tethering to enable playing audio from OverDryve 7 Pro through any Bluetooth speaker
  • Dedicated digital signal processing for greater audio clarity on calls
  • More battery capacity and more powerful processors for faster routing and smoother graphics
  • Live traffic, current fuel prices, and weather conditions
  • Enhanced driver tools such as mileage and fuel logs
  • ELD-readiness with the Rand McNally DriverConnect app on board
