ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons releases first solo album Friday

ZZ Top guitarist and vocalist Billy Gibbons releases his debut solo album Friday, Nov. 6, titled “Perfectamundo.”

Gibbons, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, chose various musicians to work with him on the album, naming the collection of artists The BFGs. The album explores Afro-Cuban sounds, echoing back to Gibbons’ roots as a Latin percussion student in Manhattan.

“Banging away on ’em came back like riding on a lost bicycle,” Gibbons said in a post on his website, referring to the conga, bongo, maracas and timbales he experimented with for the album. 

Billy Gibbons and The BFG’s “Perfectamundo” will be out Friday Nov. 6 and is available for preorder on Amazon and iTunes. The album track list:
