5 great westerns now available on Hulu

The Old West was a rugged place. Gunslingers and cowboys ruled the land, and laws were loose and justice often swift.

If you’re looking to bring some of the Old West into your truck cab, Hulu‘s lineup of western movies and TV shows may be just what you need. The service offers westerns both old and new for streaming.

Here are five great westerns available on Hulu now:

1. Quickdraw (2013-2014)

This Hulu original doubles as a western and a comedy. The series follows Sherriff John Henry Hoyle, who wants to bring order to a chaotic frontier town. Hoyle leads the hunt for the West’s most dangerous criminals. 

2. The Rifleman (1958-1963)

A rancher and his son find themselves caught up in daring adventures as they try to survive in the Old West. This iconic TV series starred Chuck Connors and Johnny Crawford.

3. The Lone Ranger (1949-1957)

A masked man and his “faithful Indian companion” Tonto are determined to maintain law and order in the Old West. Traveling across the plains, the two are out for adventure. Another popular TV program that starred Clayton Moore as the Lone Ranger and Jay Silverheels as Tonto.

4. The Roy Rogers Show (1956)

Roy Rogers and Dale Evans partner up to rescue the local citizens from dangerous outlaws prowling around the area. The duo are joined by Pat Brady, Rogers’ horse Trigger, his dog Bullet to form a solid team.

5. The Magnificent Seven (1997-1998)

Seven men are recruited to protect an Indian village after it’s threatened by ex-Confederate soldiers. Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach,Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, James Coburn and Horst Buchholz starred in this old west version of “The Seven Samurai.”
