Eastbound Interstate 10 will be narrowed to one lane overnight for three consecutive nights from 8 p.m. today, Feb. 26, to 4 a.m. March 1, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The closure will take place between 75th and 59th avenues in west Phoenix to allow for bridge work at the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange.

ADOT advises drivers to allow for extra travel time and consider alternate routes while I-10 is restricted.

The 22-mile South Mountain Freeway is scheduled for full completion in 2020 and will provide a direct link between the East Valley and West Valley. It will provide an alternative to I-10 through downtown Phoenix.
