It was a bad week to be hauling drugs into Texas

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents along the Texas/Mexico border have had a busy week. They intercepted more than $18 million in illegal drugs in four separate incidents involving tractor-trailers.

On Monday, Aug. 3, agents at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge cargo facility in Pharr, Texas seized 1,561 packages of alleged methamphetamine that weighed over 804 pounds and had a street value of about $16,094,000.

On Tuesday, Aug. 4 agents at the World Trade Bridge found 30.99 pounds of alleged methamphetamine in a truck. The narcotics have an estimated street value of $619,933, according to the CBP.

On Wednesday, Aug. 5 CBP officers at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo intercepted a tractor-trailer found to be carrying  137 packages containing 1,562 pounds of alleged marijuana valued at $312,524.

On Thursday, Aug. 6 officers at the World Trade Bridge found packages containing 50.88 pounds of alleged methamphetamine in another truck. CBP said the narcotics have an estimated street value of $1,017,643.
