During 2025, Landstar employees across the country supported a range of causes and charitable organizations, helping generate thousands of dollars, hundreds of boxes of donations and countless hours of service toward making a difference for their neighbors in need.

Second Helping

Landstar said its employees like to serve up twice the effort to help their communities combat food insecurity. In Rockford, Illinois, both current and retired employees dish out kindness year-round at Carpenter's Place, a nonprofit homeless day center.

Every three months, the Rockford community has the opportunity to have a free lunch at the outreach facility, with Landstar organizing both fundraising events and food preparation. Thanks to their efforts, over 400 guests were fed a hot meal in 2025.

Recently, Landstar's Jacksonville headquarters once again partnered with Feeding Northeast Florida to ensure a bountiful Thanksgiving for its community during its annual food drive.

There was even more to be thankful for this year, especially due to the efforts of Debbie Templeton and Alexis Williams, the two employees who coordinated the drive. With Landstar's contributions, Feeding Northeast Florida was able to provide 22,998 more meals and collect 743 pounds of food. In total, Landstar generated 23,618 meals on behalf of the nonprofit.

Santa's Helpers

As the holiday season ramped up, so did the community outreach. For the past 35 years, generous employees at Landstar's Jacksonville headquarters have partnered with the Child Guidance Center (CGC), which offers support services to children and families in the area, to provide holiday gifts for at-risk youth.

This year, employees donated over 120 new bikes and helmets, which Landstar organizer Sid Sutphin helped deliver in time for the holidays. Employees also collected gifts and monetary donations for the Christmas wish lists of 125 children in need at CGC, thanks in part to Kristin McNaron, who coordinated the effort.

Thanks to Rockford employees, the Winnebago/Boone County Foster Care Alliance Adopt-an-Angel program was able to grant 55 Christmas wish lists for foster children in their community. With the support of Lori Bauch, who coordinated the collection, children in the foster system received everything from toys to warm clothes this winter.

Driving Change

Throughout the year, employees participate in drives to keep the spirit of goodwill alive outside of the holiday season. School supply drives held in Jacksonville and Rockford collected hundreds of folders, notebooks, crayons, and backpacks for underprivileged students at Holiday Hill Elementary in Jacksonville and Riverdahl Elementary in Rockford. Coupled with ongoing blood drives in Jacksonville and Rockford, their donations are estimated to have provided enough blood to save over 300 lives and made a difference year-round.

A Place to Call Home

Landstar recently teamed up with Habitat for Humanity, whose mission is to build and repair homes for families in need.

Employees from the Rockford service center volunteered to help build a new home for a family in their community. Twenty employee volunteers supported the nonprofit's vision of a world where everyone has a decent, affordable place to live by taking a day out of the office to build a new single-family home.

As the first home build of the partnership, the program will continue through 2026 at both the Jacksonville and Rockford locations.

In addition, Landstar and its employees participated in the following corporate runs, raising funds and awareness:

  • Relay For Life with the American Cancer Society in Jacksonville, Florida
  • BKS Partners Corporate Run 5K in Jacksonville, Florida
