A&R Logistics, (Ranked 122nd on Commercial Carrier Journal’s Top 250 list) which is based in Louisville, just signed a lease for an additional 70,000 square feet of warehouse space in Jeffersonville, Ind., and move-in is under way.
With this facility, warehouse capacity in the Jeffersonville market will increase by about two-thirds, to 173,000 square feet.
A&R’s Jeffersonville facility offers packaging, trans-loading and transportation services to bulk and packaging customers.
This expansion follows announcements last November that A&R is upgrading its current packaging and warehousing technology with High JumpTM, technology for cost control, inventory management and tracking. The company expects to improve efficiencies in all areas of warehouse operations.
“Throughout 2013 and 2014, under our new ownership, we focused our energy on back-to-basic improvements in safety, operational excellence and customer service,” said Said Joe Lerro, A&R vice president of Packaging and Warehousing, based in Morris, Ill. “We’ve now set our sights on realizing our growth potential, with expanded warehouse facilities being part and parcel of that growth strategy.”
