Trucker escapes grease tanker fire in Tennessee

An unidentified truck driver escaped without injury when the tanker he was driving caught fire early today.

The blaze began at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in Smyrna, Tennessee.

Smyrna Fire officials reported the cab of the truck was burning when they arrived. They said they were able to extinguish the blaze quickly.  The tank portion of the truck, which contained some 3,500 gallons of grease, did not catch fire.
