While some folks say the same thing about the shortage of safe and secure truck parking, one company is taking a stab at making such a change.

Big Rig Parking is a relatively new company that is building stand-alone truck parking lots. It has two in operation now, and plans for more; many more as their business plan unfolds.

In this episode of the Truckers News Podcast, Pound Lamb of Big Rig Parking talks about the need for truck parking and the price -- both financial and psychological -- truckers pay when they can't find a place to park.

"We want to be the Chick-fil-A of parking lots," says Lamb, citing that fast-food chain's reputation for good food, fair prices, and excellent customer service.
