Total Distribution, Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Peoples Services, Inc., headquartered in Canton, Ohio, has acquired the assets of Swafford Trucking, Inc., Swafford Warehousing, Inc., and Swafford Transportation, Inc., based in Greer, Spartanburg and Greenville, South Carolina.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The acquisition continues the strategy of further diversifying and expanding the services offered by TDI and its affiliates, according to a statement from the company.

Doug Sibila, chief executive officer of TDI said, “Adding the high-quality Swafford companies and services to our existing network will improve the service levels and flexibility to PSI and Swafford’s current customers.”

Swafford’s sterling reputation and history were a critical component and rationale for the acquisition, TDI said in a statement.

Van Swafford, founder of the Swafford companies said, “As founder of Swafford Companies, my goal was simple -- to build a company based on a high level of professional services. Good fortune and great customers, some for decades, have guided us to reach our accomplishments.
