Yordy Transport acquired by Alabama-based PS Logistics

 PS Logistics, a privately held transportation and logistics company based in Birmingham, announced its subsidiary Diamond State Trucking & Logistics has acquired Yordy Transport, a founder-owned trucking company that specializes in flatbed shipping.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Morton, Illinois, Yordy Transport was founded in 2018 by Avery Yordy and primarily hauls railroad, steel, lumber, and building materials freight across the central and southeastern United States. Yordy Transport’s freight mix and geographic coverage are complementary to Diamond States’ and are expected to provide immediate opportunities to realize operational synergies, according to a statement from PS Logistics. Yordy Transport will now operate under the Diamond State name.

The transaction continues PS Logistics’ acquisition strategy of partnering with families and quality owners within the transportation and logistics industry. Since 2016, PS Logistics has acquired 26 trucking operations and five non-asset logistics operations across the U.S.
