Driver dies when truck leaves highway, strikes house in Texas

The 51-year-old driver of a tractor-trailer died when his truck left a highway, struck two parked cars, crashed through a fence, and slammed in to the side of a house in Texas.

The incident occurred at about 9 a.m. Saturday morning, June 29 in Mission, Texas, which is located on the U.S.-Mexico border in the southern part of the state. The crash took place on the 2600 block W. Expressway 83, aastbound frontage, near Jr.’s Tires and Wheels.

Authorities said the house was for sale and unoccupied at the time of the crash.

The driver who was in the vehicle struck by the truck was hospitalized with injuries, according to police. The other vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the collision.

Police continue their investigation.
