The American Truck Historical Society will honor four trailblazing pioneers with their induction into the American Trucking and Industry Leader Hall of Fame on Wednesday, October 23.
This year's inductees include:
- Robert Young, ABF
- John Ruan, Ruan Transportation
- Marvin Rush, Rush Enterprises
- Fred Jones, Thermo King
“Each of these pioneers has made a big impact on the industry. Robert Young is the founder of ABF. Fred Jones perfected the art of refrigeration for trucks and railroad trailers. John Raun was the leader of transportation logistics. And Marvin Rush formed a nationwide chain of dealerships, Rush Enterprises.” said Tom Mullen chairman of the American Trucking and Industry Leader Hall of Fame.
The induction ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the ATHS headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri.
The ATHS is seeking trucks to be showcased at the even. ATHS said special consideration will be given to ATHS members and any trailer with an antique Thermo King unit. Contact Courtney at [email protected] or by phone at 816.777.0924 for availability to showcase your truck at the event.
The Hall of Fame is made possible with funding from Cummins, Daimler Truck North America, and Mack; and participating partners, Walmart Transportation, Women in Trucking, and the Owner-Operatore Independent Driver Association.
