The New Hampshire Department of Transportation warns motorists to expect delay on some highways as a superload passes through the state this week.

NHDOT said it approved a large equipment move by Bay Crane Northeast LLC. Starting Tuesday at 9 PM, a 136-foot long, 18-foot tall cold storage box will be transported from Portsmouth to Brookline.

The NHDOT said the route includes:

  • Tuesday the journey begins in Portsmouth, traveling along NH 33, NH 108, NH 101, NH 125, and NH 111, with a stop in Hudson around 3 AM (weather permitting).
  • Wednesday, the move resumes at 9 p.m., passing through NH 111, NH 3A, FEET NB, US 3, NH 130, and NH 13, reaching Amherst by 4 a.m. on Thursday (weather permitting).

To ensure safety, NHDOT said to expect temporary road closures of 30+ minutes and rolling roadblocks both nights. NH State Police and traffic control will be on site, and alternate routes are recommended to avoid delays.
